Problems With Viagra�
Those who have erectile dysfunction are commonly advised to take Viagra.� Viagra, also known as �Sildenafil�, is the leading medication on the market today to treat men with erectile problems.� There are currently two other medications that specifically treat erectile dysfunction available to consumers as well.� No matter which type of medication you are advised to take, they each come with a list of side-effects.� As with any medication, there are always substances contained in a type of medicine that will not react well with your body.� You are putting a substance in your body that it normally does not have to deal with.� However, it is best to be advised about what effects you will encounter before taking any form of medication.� Each type of medicine comes with an information booklet that contains all types of important facts, that you, as the consumer, should know.� Your doctor will also evaluate your symptoms and he or she will keep in mind what type of medicine you are currently on.� Ask your doctor what symptoms you should encounter before you take the medicine. �
The most common symptoms that have been experienced by consumers taking Viagra are headaches, facial flushing, heart palpitations, upper respiratory problems, sudden hearing loss, dizziness, and blurriness.� The last three symptoms have just currently been reported on the side-effects list by the FDA.� When Viagra was first tested in a clinical study, very few people reported any type of blurry vision or hearing loss.� However, there have lately been a large amount of people who have reported these problems.� Along with the hearing loss, the consumers also experienced dizziness.� Those who experienced vision problems, many of them reported that objects took on a bluish tint.� The FDA required that the effect of blurriness be reported on the pamphlet in May of 2005.� �
In the April 2007 issue of 'Journal of Laryngology & Otology', there was an article containing information about a man who had to quit taking Viagra due to a sudden hearing loss.� This new information caused the FDA to research more into the problem of hearing loss associated with the drug.� The results showed that there had been a total of 29 reports of hearing loss, with or without ringing in the ears, or dizziness.� Among the cases, some of the cases were complete hearing losses, while others were either temporary or in just one ear.� In October of 2007, the FDA announced that the Viagra pamphlet would have the problem of sudden hearing loss listed as one of the side-effects as well.� Due to these updates, a new section called �Precautions� has been added to the information booklet that comes with all Viagra purchases.� The FDA has advised that anyone who experiences a sudden hearing loss due to Viagra to stop taking the medication immediately and to consult advise from a doctor.�
What many may not know about Viagra is that it was originally made to treat those with high blood pressure.� However, the researchers involved with the medicine found that Viagra treated erectile dysfunction much better than high blood pressure.� The only downside to this is that anyone who is currently taking a blood pressure medicine, or alpha blocker, will have an increased risk for extremely low blood pressure if they take Viagra with the other medication.� These types of patients are advised to take both medications at least 4 hours apart in order to decrease this risk.��
